The Champaign County Arts Council (CCAC) is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its popular Bad Art by Good People fundraiser by bringing back past winners to compete for the title of “Champion of Champions.” The event features non-artist celebrities competing to create a work of art and campaigning for the public's votes for their artwork. There is also an autographed artwork by actor Tommy Chong, who is famous for the “Cheech and Chong” movies.
Wallace & Turner is proud to serve as the Diamond Sponsor with President Patrick Field competing as a Champion of Champions contestant.
The public can vote for their favorite artist online via PayPal at www.champaigncountyartscouncil.org or in person at the Arts Council office, 119 Miami St., Urbana. Votes are accepted by cash, check or credit card.
The fundraiser will culminate in a dinner and auction on Friday, May 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the VFW Brown Ridge Hall, 220 E. Court St. A limited number of tickets are available for $35, which includes appetizers, a catered dinner, and dessert. The featured “bad art” pieces will be auctioned following dinner, with all proceeds benefiting CCAC.
